I’ve given it a day to sort itself out, but for some reason the new podcast doesn’t seem to be being picked up by iTunes: is there anything different about how you included the mp3? Or something?

I don’t know. At this point, I can barely access the internet, so I’m not even able to verify whether it’s playable through the Flash player above. (Is it?) It’s possible something screwy happened during the upload yesterday afternoon, which took about half an hour due to my radically slowed-down DSL speed.

O.K., it does seem to be there, at least. And the post shows up in the feed.

One possibility that occurs to me is that iTunes has an upper limit of 100MB per podcast.

OK, it’s found it and downloaded it now. Don’t know what that was about.

    Oh good!

    How very cool.

OK, I’ve just begun my own series of podcasts and have found it relatively painless to upload them to iTunes. If I can just remember how …

There’s a programme called Podcast Maker (http://www.lemonzdream.com/podcastmaker/) that I am using on a trial basis (the latest release is in beta, and there’s a 30 day free trial; so far so good.). I make the podcast and then turn it into a mpeg and then I plonk that into the programme and it publishes it for me. I think there is a way to make the podcast in the programme but for the moment I’m in amateur land, so I just use the MacBook and GarageBand.

Podcast Maker publishes the podcast automatically to iTunes, which is not a painless process at all – I didn’t put in a whole lot of metatags or anything. I did submit the feed manually to iTunes in the beginning, and so the programme is only following up, but there it is.

(I too would subscribe if it were in iTunes.)

Thanks, Scavella. I’ve just gotten the podcast approved and listed by iTunes — it’s here (link also added above) — but now I need to figure out how to edit the feed to include art, metatags, etc. Can’t use Podcast Maker, cuz I’m not a Macabite. But might be able to do something with Feedburner, I don’t know.
