Trick-or-Treat

Halloween night, two black bears
tramped through town. The next day,
we awoke to a blur of fur on the front
page of the local paper. Had we passed
them on the sidewalk, my son a werewolf
under the full moon? Yes, I’m sure
we waved and praised their costumes.
