I absolutely love both the paintings. The first one is drawing me towards itself again and again. The angel is peeking at the girl in the room and can read her thoughts. The thoughts themselves are not important but the realization that there is someone watching us is what is crucial here. This is because if one has this feeling all the time, one is bound to be better behaved naturally. The good upbringing does not come into it, in my humble opinion. The second work is also extremely interesting in that the humor is there for all to see. I just love the title: “Man realizes it is good to be king, but better to be a queen”. This could be the artist’s way to have a dig at the housewives who have rich husbands and lead pampered lives ala Desperate Housewives.
