I was Primus,
your first shock,
first intellectual,
first seduction by
the power of mind.
Your first big mistake,
first adultery,
first hand-to-hand combat,
I brought us to
your first door slammed
leaving more than
half yourself behind.

I like this very much. Marks a moment that, one way or another, we’ve all lived. Thanks, Jean.
!!
wonderful.
Wow, Jean, very nice.
So much packed into twelve lines.
Minimal but packed with meaning. If it was an object, it would glow incandescently.
Sharp and spare. This one leaves a mark.
Excellent – small but perfectly formed. If the arrival of this poem surprised you, you should risk a few more such shocks!
