Let alone the fact that it’s a beautiful and engaging tale with excellent use of language, you tell it with such certainty and emotion, clearly and entrancingly. In addition to the easy folk-tale/midrash rhythm of the language which happily engages all my Isaac Singer/Bernard Malamud/occasional Grace Paley receptors, you’ve made real catharsis with this poem, in the best and deepest tragic senses.

Long live (presently-unfashionable) narrative poetry and its writers!
