I know some people complain about our American neighbours but I have lived in the U.S. as a Canadian and I finished my last two years of high school with Americans overseas and I have a lot of respect for you. There’s entirely too much of us v. them attitude, when people are far more similar than different. I know it’s human nature to focus on the 10% that is bad or different. Let’s celebrate the 90%.

Oh, I remember reading this when it was originally posted, and feeling awed that a non-Canadian could write about Canada with such deep understanding, perhaps more than some of us Canadians understand our country ourselves. So, it’s wonderful to read it again here.
